Match 9 : Virat Kohli and KL Rahul's centuries followed by Kuldeep's five for powered India knees down Pakistan by huge 228 runs
9th ODI Match of Cricket Asia Cup 2023 between Pakistan vs India at R Premadasa Cricket Stadium, Colombo on Sunday, September 10, 2023.
Putting into bat first b Pakistan, India started well and added 121 runs in 16.4 overs before Rohit Sharma got out scoring superb 49 balls 56 runs. Shubman Gill also followed him scoring 52 balls 58 runs. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul took charge in hand and rain stopped the match when India were 147/2 in 24.1 overs. Match called off for the day and will resume tomorrow due to wet out field.
Match resume on next day and India with wonderful bating performances of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul set huge target of 357 runs for Pakistan to get. KL Rahul smashed 106 balls unbeaten 111 runs and Virat Kohli played superb inning of 94 balls unbeaten 122 runs for India.
Following huge target of 357 runs, Pakistan team all out scoring just 128 runs in 32 overs and lost the match by huge margins of 228 runs. Fakhar Zaman with 27 runs was top scorer for Pakistan. Kuldeep Yadav bowled wonderful spell of 8-0-25-5 for India. Virat Kohli declared man of the match for his superb 122 unbeaten runs.
