11th ODI Match of Cricket Asia Cup 2023 between Pakistan vs Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Cricket Stadium, Colombo on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
Opting to bat first, Pakistan got slow start initially. At one stage Pakistan was 130/5 in 27.4 overs. Abdullah Shafique with 52 runs and Mohammad Rizwan's unbeaten 86 runs along with Iftikhar Ahmed's 40 balls 47 runs helps Pakistan to set good target of 253 runs for Sri Lanka to get in 42 overs (D/L). Matheesha Pathirana was expensive but took 3 wickets of 65 runs in his 8 overs.
Following 252 runs in 42 overs target, Sri Lanka on the last ball thrilling finished match made chase successfully and won the match by 8 wickets. Kusal Mendis with 91 runs, Sadeera Samarawickrama with 48 runs and Charith Asalanka's unbeaten 49 runs were top scorers for Sri Lanka. Iftikhar Ahmed bowled well and took 3 wickets for Pakistan. Kusal Mendis declared man of the match for his 91 runs.
