Match 12 : Henry's 5 for 42 went in vain as Varun's 5 for 42 powered India to upset New Zealand by 44 runs and advanced to semi-final
12th match of Champions Trophy 2025 between India vs New Zealand played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai on Sunday, 02 March, 2025.
Putting into bat first by New Zealand, India lost top 3 wickets just in 30 runs. Shreyas Iyer with 79 runs and Axar Patel with 42 runs played good inning for Infdia. Hardik Pandya in later overs played 45 runs inning and helps India to set 250 runs target for New Zealand to get. Matt Henry bowled well and took 5 wickets of 42 runs in his 8 overs.
Following 250 runs target, New Zealand team surrender against Indian spin attack badly and all out scoring 205 runs in 45.2 overs. Kane Williamson only NZ play well and made very well 81 runs. Varun Chakravarthy bowled superbly and picked up 5 wickets of 42 runs. Kuldeep claimed 2 wickets. Axar and Jadeja shared 1 wkts each as well. India won by 44 runs and play with Australia in 1st semi on 4th March at same venue.
