Opting to bat first, Afghanistan with Ibrahim Zadran's excellent 146 balls 177 runs and Hashmatullah Shahidi, Azmatullah Omarzai and Mohammad Nabi's forties set huge target of 326 runs for England to get. Jofra Archer took 3 wickets for England.
Following huge target of 326 runs, England team fought hard and managed to score 317 runs in 49.5 overs and lost the match by 8 runs. Joe Root played superb inning of 111 balls 120 runs for England. Azmatullah Omarzai with 5 wickets of 58 runs was top bowler for Afghanistan. Ibrahim Zadran declared man of the match for his match winning 177 runs.
