Day 5 : Jadeja's all round performance & Ashwin's 10 wkts powered India to crushed New Zealand by 197 runs at Kanpur
On 5th day New Zealand resumed batting with 93/4 of previous day score and all out scoring 236 runs and lost the match by huge margins of 197 runs. R Ashwin picked up 6 wickets and Mhd Shami took 2 wkts of New Zealand 2nd inning. RA Jadeja took total 6 wickets and contributed well with bat 42* and 50* runs. He declared man of the match for his all round performances. India led the 3-match series 1-0.
Day 4 : R Ashwin became the 2nd fastest bowler to 200 Test wkts & put India on a driving seat at stumps
On 4th day India resume batting with 159/1 of previous day score and declared 2nd inning at tea break scoring 377/5. All top order batsmen played positive cricket for India and contributed well. M Vijay 76, CA Pujara 78, AM Rahane 40, RG Sharma 68* and RA Jadeja 50* were top scorer for India today. New Zealand given 434 runs target to achieved to win ths match. New Zealand top orders once again failed to understand R Ashwin's turning balls and lost 4 wickets scoring 93 runs at stump on 4th day. Ashwin picked up 3 wickets and put India in commanding position as well. New Zealand skipper KS Willimson became the 200th victim of R Ashwin's test wicket and got LBW out scoring 25 runs. R Ashwin became the second-fastest bowler to 200 Test wickets. on 5th day New Zealand needs 341 runs or bated through to draw and India needs more 6 wickets to win the match.
Day 3 : Jadeja-Ashwin spin duos crushed Kiwis on 262 and led India to a 215 runs lead at stump
On 3rd day morning, New Zealand batsmen surrendered against RA Jadeja and R Ashwin's excellent bowling and lost all 9 wickets adding just 110 runs of previous day's score 152/1. Jadeja with 5 wickets haul and Ashwin with 4 wickets dominate guest team with supreem bowling performances. India got 56 runs lead in 1st inning and at the end of day 3 cummulative lead raised to 215 runs as India made 159 runs having lost just 1 wicket of KL Rahul (38), M Vijay and CA Pujara played good cricket smashed fifties and remained unbeaten at stump day 3. Both made 65* and 50* runs to bat on 4th day morning.
Day 2 : TWM Latham 56* & KS Williamson 65* gave steady start to New Zealand on rain hit day
On second day marning India all out adding 27 runs of previous day score and finished 1st inning on 318 runs. New Zealand lost MJ Guptill early on team score 35 but, skipper KS Willimson and TWM Lathan played well against Indian spiners and put New Zealand on stong condition with 152/1 before rain interrupted the match after tea season on 2nd day. MJ Guptill made 21 runs before LBW out by Umesh Yadav. RA Ashwin and RA Jadeja bowled well but, both New Zealand batsmen Lathan and Willimson played well agains spin and put pressure over host team.

Opting to bat first after winning Toss in the morning, India made good start with M Vijay and KL Rahul initially. India lost KL Rahul early scoring 32 runs. CA Pujara joined with M Vijay and played sensible cricket in the middle. Both played good cricket and added 112 runs for 2nd wicket before Pujara made his way scoring well 62 runs. Skipper V Kohli came in middle and went early scoring just 9 runs. M Vijay played well and made 65 runs before left the field. Middle orders RG Sharma (35) and R Ashwin (40) played good cricket and hepls India to put decent 1st inning score. Lower Orders could not faced TA Bould with new ball and India lost sudden 3 wickets in quick interwals. At one stage India were 261/6 and ended at stump with 291/9 on Day1.
