IPL Governing Council has announced total 351 players list for IPL 2017 auction to be held on 20th February, 2017. The list of players contained 146 All-Rounders, 114 Bowlers, 61 Batsmen and 30 Wicketkeepers from Ten countries including India, Australia, West Indies, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, South Africa, England, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and UAE will featured for IPL10 auction for edition 2017.

BCCI and IPL Governing Council announced that, Players Auction for IPL 2017 will be held on Monday, 20 February 2017, at the Ritz-Carlton, Bengaluru. Earlier player auction's proposed date was 4th February. Due to BCCI administartion changed by Supreme Court of India IPL Auction delaed and now will be held on 20th Feb 2017. Interestingly, the 1st IPL Player auction in the year 2008 was also held on February 20, 2008.

This will be the last year of IPL before teams overhaul their rosters for the 2018 season. All existing player contracts will expire after IPL 2017 and it is expected most players will go under the hammer at the mega auction ahead of the 2018 season. There has been no decision yet on the player retention rules though.

So far, more than 750 players have registered for the Player Auction 2017. The deadline for player registration ends on 3rd February, 2017.

The IPL franchises will go into the player auction with a maximum of INR 143.33 Crs purse for 2017 season. Each IPL franchise can have a maximum of 27 players including 9 overseas players. A maximum of 76 players, including 28 overseas, can be bought at the auction.
