9th Group Stage match of CLT20 2014 was played between Hobart Hurricanes and Northern Districts at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur. Hobart Hurricanes with extra ordinery bowling performances won the match by huge margins of 86 runs. BW Hilfenhaus (Hobart Hurricanes) declared man of the match for his magical bowling spell (4-0-14-3).
Earlier, Northern D won the toss and decided to field first. Hurricanes putting into bat forst, started inning slowly and confidentlly. Hobbart lost BR Dunk early scoring 12 runs but, skipper TD Paine and AC Blizzard played sensible cricket and kept wicket in hand upto middle of the inning. Paine made useful 43 runs before he lost wicket. Shoaib Malik joined with AC Blizzard nad played quick inning of 45 runs of 22 balls. AC Blizzard in later overs go after Districts bowlers and made 62 runs of 43 balls and put Hurricanes on 178 runs at the end of 20 overs.
Following huge target of 179 runs, Northern D could not made batter start and lost top orders very early. Northern D lost top 4 batsmen in 6.4 overs on team total just 19 runs. Districts all batsmen surrender against Hobart's pace attack and all out scoring just 92 runs in 16.4 overs and lost the match by huge margin of 86 runs.
