18th Group Stage match of CLT20 2014 was played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunfoil Dolphins at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad. Kolkata with superb battiing of RV Uthappa and MK Pandy won the match by 36 runs. RV Uthappa declared man of the match for his 85 runs of 55 balls.
Earlier, Kolkata won the toss and decided to bat first. Kolkata Opening batsman RV Uthappa and MK Pandey played splendid innigs and gave Kolkata decent totals of 187 runs at the end of 20 overs. Uthappa made 85* and MK Pandey contributed 76* runs for Kolkata.
Following huge target of 188 runs, Dolphins could not made batter start and lost 2 wickets early. Skipper MN van Wyk played good inning of 34 runs before lost his wicket. Middle order batsmen K Zondo (32) and AL Phehlukwayo (37) played well but Dolphins could not reached Kolkata's totals at the end of 20 overs and managed to score 151 runs of 8 wickets. Dolphins lost the match by 36 runs.
RV Uthappa (Kolkata) declared man of the match for his good peace of batting with 85* runs of 55 balls.
