17th Group Stage match of CLT20 2014 was played between Kings XI Punjab and Cape Cobras at PCA Stadium, Mohali. Good peace of bowling performances gave Punjab easy win over Cobras by 7 wickets. AR Patel declared man of the match for his tight bowling with 3 wickets for 15 runs in his 4 overs.
Earlier, Punjab won the toss and decoded to put Cobras into bat first. Cobras made superb start with RE Levi and HM Amla. Both played goos cricket initially and contributed 42 and 40 runs respectively. but, other middle order batsmen faild to stay in middle for long and Cobras team all out scoring 135 runs in 18.3 overs.
Following target of 136 runs, Punjab's top orders played sensible cricket and registered easy win in 18.1 overs with 7 wickets remaining. WP Saha played good inning of 42 runs of 35 balls.
