Men of 1st Day : AN Cook and GS Ballance (England) |
England skipper AN Cook won the Toss and elected to bat first on 1st Day of 3rd Investec Test series between England and India. Having failed in first 2 tests England Skipper AN Cook today led England from front and played superb inning of 95 runs before lost his wicket to RA Jadeja. GS Ballance also played splendid inning of 104* runs and put Englande in good position on very first day of 3rd test. M Shami and RA Jadeja got 1 wicket each for India. At stump England were 247/2.
GS Ballance 104* and IR Bell 16* to bat on 2nd day.

Man of 2nd Day :Ian Bell (England) |
England continued batting with 247/2 and ended 1st inning with huge score of 569/7 on second day. Ian Bell made huge contribution with 167 runs for England on second day followed by GS Ballance 156 runs. JC Buttler also played quick inning of 85 runs of 83 balls before England declared 1st inning with 569/7. India could not made batter start and lost S Dhawan early scoring just 6 runs. India were 25/1 at stump on day 2.
M Vijay (11*) and CA Pujara (4*) to bat on 3rd day.

Men of 3rd Day : Broad and Anderson (England) |
India continued batting with 25/1 and bated through day with 323/8. M Vijay and Pujara lost early wickets to Broad. AM Rahane played good inning of 54 runs Virat Kohli again failed to made good score and got out scoring 39 runs. RG Sharma made 28 runs and RA Jadeja contributed 31 runs before lost their wickets. MS Dhoni 50* and M Shami 4* were in middle at stump on day 3.

Men of 4th Day : Anderson AN Cook (England) |
India continued batting with 323/8 and ended 1st inning on 330. JM anderson picked up tail enders quickly. India were 240 runs short by England 1st inning totals. England might push India for follow-on but, England chose to bat and put decent target for India to achieved. In 2nd inning, England played quick innings and put 205/4 in just 40.4 overs and gave India 445 runs to achieved. India could not made batter start and at end of the day India were 112/4 and still required 333 runs to win the match with 6 wickets in hand.
AM Rahane (18*) and RG Sharma (6*) to bat on 5th day.

Men of 4th Day : Moin Ali (England) |
India continued batting with 112/4 and ended 2nd inning on 178 and lost match by huge margin of 266 runs. England spiner Moin Ali picked-up 6 wickets and knees down Indian batsmen as well. In first season of 5th day Anderson bowled well and sent 2 Indian batsmen into pavillion. After that, Moin Ali did the rest and sent all tail enders back to pavillion with superb bowling performance. 5 match series now level with 1-1.
JM Anderson declared man of the match for his good peace of bowling and picked-up 7 wickets in match.
