Tenth ODI Cricket World Cup was played in three countries : India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh between 14 International Teams. England, India, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indias,Zimbabwe, South Africa, Bangladesh, Canada, Kenya, Netherlands and Ireland participated for the 10th Cricket World Cup tournament. Total 49 games were played at 13 different venues of India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The best World Cup of all time resulted in favour of India. Indian skipper MS Dhoni played a masterful captain's innings to steer his side to World Cup success after long interwals of 28 years. Kapil Dev and his men first lifted world cup at Lord's in 1983. In the final match skipper MS Dhoni(91*) and Gambhir(97) lead India to World Cup glory in style. MS Dhoni (India) was man of the match for his match winning of 91* runs of 78 balls. |
