Eleventh ICC Cricket World Cup was played in two countries : Australia and New zealand between 14 International Teams. England, India, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indias, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Bangladesh, UAE, Afghanistan, Scotland and Ireland participated for the 11th Cricket World Cup tournament. Total 49 games were played.
This year. both host countries New zealand and Australia played final match. So far as talking about New zealand, who beat South Africa in Semi Final match and remained un-beaten in tournament and Australia best India in Semi Final. Thouugh out the tournament New zealand performed very well but, in final Australia hold the nerves well and out played New zealand in all departments and registered comprehensive win by 7 wickets. James Faulkner declared man of the match for his 3 quick wickets and finished New zealand on 183 runs. MJ Clarke also played good inning of 74 runs. After winning 5th Worldcup for Australia skipper MJ Clarke declared his retirements from ODI cricket.
