ICC World T20 2014 : 2nd Semi Final match has been played between India and South Africa at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur. India with great batting performances won the match by 6 wickets when 5 balls spares to bowl. Virat Kohli was hero of the match who made unbeaten 72 runs of just 44 balls and he declared man of the match for his match winning inning.
Earlier, South African skipper won the toss and decided to bat first. South Africa lost Q de Kock early in very first over. But, other middle order batsmen played good cricket and contributed well for the team. Skipper F du Plessis made 58 runs and JP Duminy contributed 45 runs and at the end of 20 overs South Africa managed to put huge score of 172 runs for India to achieved.
Following big total of 173 runs, India started inning very aggrassively and play positive cricket from the beginning. RG Sharma made quick 24 runs of just 13 balls before departed. V Kohli joined with AM Rahane played superb inning of 72 runs of just 44 balls with 5 fantastic fours and 2 massive sixes. He remained not out till and and India won the match by 6 wickets with 5 balls spare to bowl.
Thus, India advanced to Final and South Africa will have to go home. Virat Kohli was declared man of the match for his 72 runs of 44 balls.
India will play with Sri Lanka on Sunday for ICC world t20 title 2014. |
