Player of the Match : KC Sangakkara (Sri Lanka)

ICC World T20 2014 : Final match has been played between Sri Lanka and India at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur. Good toss to won by Sri Lanka and lifted ICC world t20 2014 trophy fron India by defeating India by 6 wickets. KC Sangakkar declared man of the match for his 52 runs of 35 balls.

Earlier, Sri Lanka skipper SL Malinga won the toss and put India into bat first and set target to be achieved. India lost AM Rahane early but, RG Sharma and Virat Kohli played good inning for India. Kohli made valuable 77 runs of 58 balls. But other batsmen faild to score well. In later overs Indian batsmen could not managed to playe lofty shortd and at the end of 20 overs India put small totals of 130 runs for Sri Lanka to be achieved.

Following total of 131 runs, Sri Lanka also lost MDKJ Perera early. But, other middle order batsmen played sensible innings and achieved given target in 17.5 overs with 4 wickets. Kumar Sangakkara contributed 52 runs of 35 balla and remained not out till end.

Thus, Sri Lanka won ICC World t20 2014 trophy for the first time and kenns down India as well. Kumar Sangakkara was man of the match for his unbeaten 52 runs and Virat Kohli (India) declared man of the series for his consistent performance in tournament with 5 fifties in his 6 innings.
