1st Test Match : The 1st Test match of West Indies Tour in India 2013-14 has been played in Eden Gradens Stadium, Kolkata between India and West Indies.

India registered comprehensive win over West Indies by inning and 51 runs just in 3 days. Rohit Sharma of India declared man of the match for his classic hundred in very first test match he played for India.

Earlier West Indies won the Toss and decided to bat first. West Indies managed to score 234 runs in first inning. Mohammed Sami picked up 4 important wickets in his first Test inning. India in first inning could not made batter start and lost top order batsmen very early. Only Rohit Sharma stood in middle and kept wicket in hand. He got good company of R Ashwin and made 250 runs partnership for 7th wicket. Rohit Sharma contributed 177 runs and R Ashwin made valuable 124 runs for India. India manage to score 453 runs in first inning. India 219 runs lead over West Indies.

West Indies started second inning aggrassively. Top order batsmen started well but, could not stood long in the middle and lost wickets in regular interwals. Sami pickrd up 5 wickets and R Ashwin picket up 3 wickets for India. West Indies all out scoring just 168 runs and lost the match by inning and 51 runs and India led the 2-match series 1-0.
