Final match of IPL season 7 played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. Kolkata with good batting performance of MK Pandey won the match by 3 wickets. MK PAndey declared man of the match for his 94 runs of just 50 balls.
Earlier, Kolkata won the Toss and decided to field first and let Punjab to set target. Punjab putting into bat first, Lost V Sehwag early scorinh 7 runs. GJ Baily joined with M Vohra but lost his wicket contributing just 1 run. WP Saha joined with Vohra and played one of his best inning of IPL and smashed quickest century of IPL season 7. His firing inning of 115* runs included 10 fabulous fours and 8 massive sixes. M Vohra also played well and made useful 67 runs. GJ Maxwell failed today and got out on very first ball he faced. Punjab managed to put huge score of 199 runs at the end of 20 overs.
Following huge target of 200 runs, Kolkata also could not made batter start and lost orange cap holder man in form batsman RV Uthappa very early scoring just 5 runs. Skipper started well but fall scoring 23 runs of 17 balls. MK Pandey and YK Pathan took the charge in maddle and played sensible cricket in middle overs. YK Pathan got out in hurry scoring 36 runs. But, MK Pandey really anchor KKR inning well and smashed very well 94 runs of just 50 balls with 7 fours and 6 towering sixes. MAtch went to the last over and Kolkata batsmen holds the nerves well and won the Final match by 3 wickets when 3 balls spare to bowl.
Thus, Kolkata with very good win registered second title of IPL. Punjab dis appointed with losing fonal game. MK Pandey declared man of the match for his brave inning of 94 runs.
