IPL 7 Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Report

54th match of IPL season 7 has been played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad at Eden Gardens Stadium, Kolkata. Kolkata with mighty YK Pathan's 72 runs of 22 balls registered comprehensive win by 4 wickets. YK Pathan declared man of the match for his firing inning of 72 runs.

Earlier, Kolkata won the toss and decided to put Hyderabad into bat first. Hderabad sent DA Warner and S Dhawan to open inning. DA Warner failed today and lost wicket scoring just 4 runs. NV Ojha joined with Dhawan and play sensible cricket innitially. S Dhawan got run out scoring 29 runs and NV Ojha made 26 runs before he lost wicket. DJG Sammy played quick cricket in later overs and put HYderabad on 160 runs at the end of 20 overs.

Following target of 161 runs Kolkata got good start with skipper G Gambhir and RV Uthappa. Gambhir got out scoring 28 runs. Purple cap holder RV Uthappa made quick 41 runs of 30 balls lost wicket in hurry. YK Pathan took the charge and played extra ordinery inning for Kolkata. He smashed fastest fifty of IPL just in 15 balls. He made firing 72 runs of just 25 balls with 7 massive sixes and 5 fantastic fours. Kolkata registered comprehensive win by 4 wickets and secured 2nd position in Poits table tally of IPL 7.

Kolkata needed to achieved target in 15.2 overs to secured 2nd position in points tally. They did it in 14.2 overs and now Kolkata will play Qualifier 1 with Punjab.
