IPL 7 Mumbai Indians vs Kings XI Punjab Report

22nd match of IPL season 7 has been played between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Mumbai won the match by 5 wickets. This was Mumbai's first win in IPL Season 7. CJ Anderson (Mumbai) declared man of the match 1 wicket and 35 runs of 25 balls.

Earlier, Punjab won the toss and decided to bat first. Punjab lost both openers early. V Sehwag got run out scoring just 1 run and CA Pujara lost his wicket scoring q9 runs. Middle order batsmen WP Saha and GJ Maxwell played good cricket and at the end of 20 overs Punjab managed to put good totals of 168 runs. GJ Maxewll made quick 45 runs of 27 balls and WP Saha contributed 59* runs.

Following target of 169 runs, Mumbai also could not made batter start and lost BR Dunk (5) and AT Rayudu (8) early. CM Gautam and skipper RG Sharman took the charge and played good cricket in middle overs. CM Gautam made 33 runs and RG Sharma contributed 39 runs before lost wickets. In later overs CJ anderson (35 of 25 balls) and KA Pollard (28* of 12 balls) played superb innings and gave Mumbai first win in IPL season 7 by 5 wickets.

Thus, Mumbai got welcome 2 points and Punjab suffered 1st loss in season. CJ anderson declared man of the match for his all round performance with 1 wicket and 35 important runs.
