27th match of IPL season 7 has been played between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Mumbai won back to back 2nd win at home after flop show at UAE as today won by 19 runs against Bangalore. Mumbai Skipper RG Sharma declared man of the match for his 59* runs of 35 balls.
Earlier, Bangalore won the toss and put Mumbai into bat first. Mumbai started inning with BR Dunk and CM Gautam very sensibly. Dunk went early scoring 15 runs but, CM Gautam played good cricket with Rayudu initially. Rayudu also departed scoring just 9 runs. Skipper RG Sharma joined with Gautam but, Gautam also lost his wicket of Aaron and next coming CJ Anderson also became victim of Chahal. KA Pollard and RG Sharma played some good cricket and put Mumbai on 187 runs at the end of 20 overs. RG Sharma made 59* runs and KA Pollard 43 of 31 balls.
Following Target of 188 runs, Bangalore started very aggrassively with PA Patel and CH Gayle. Both made 50 runs partnershp just in 4.2 overs. Parthiv Patel lost his wicket scoring 26 runs of Harbhaja Singh and CH Gayle also became vistim of Harbhajan Singh, he made 38 runs. Skipper Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers took the charge and played sensible cricket in middle overs. V Kohli played good inning of 35 runs but, other middle and lower batsmen failed to survive and lost the match by 19 runs.
Thus, Mumbai registered needed win over Bangalore and gain 2 important points in points table tally of IPL season 7 and Bangalore with 0 points. RG Sharma skipper of Mumbai declared man of the match for his superb inning of 59* runs of just 35 balls.
