21st match of IPL season 7 has been played between Chennai Supesr Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at Ranchi. Chennai with good all round performances won the match by 34 runs. BB McCullum played well and made 56 runs of 40 balls for Chennai but, RA Jadeja declared man of the match for his superb bowling with 4 wickets in 4 overs spending just 12 runs.
Earlier, rain delayed the match and restricted to 17 overs match per side. MS Dhoni of Chennai won the toss and he decided to bat first. Chennai put good totals of 148 runs at the end of 17 overs. BB McCullum contributed fantastic 56 runs of 40 balls.
Following total of 149 runs, Kolkata could not made batter start and lost skipper Gambhir early. Top orders failed to bat well and lost wickets in quick successions. RV Uthappa played well and made 47 runs. In later overs YK Pathan played fast inning of 41 runs of 29 balls with 4 massive sixes but not enough to reach Chennai totals. At the end Kolkata lost the match by 34 runs. RA Jadeja picked up 4 wickets and MM Sharma 3 wickets.
Thus, Chennai gained 2 important points and Kolkata 0. RA Jadeja declared man of the match for his superb bowling spell, 4 wickets in 4 overs spending just 12 runs.
