16th match of IPL season 2014 will be played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings at Sharjah. Chennai won by 5 wirkets with help of SR Smith's superb inning of 66 runs. DR Smith Declared man of the match for his fanststic inning of 66 runs.
Earlier, Hyderabad won the toss and decided to bat first. AJ Finch as usual played good inning from top and made very well 44 runs. Skipper Dhawan and Miler failed today. Other Middle order batsmen contributed little. But in later overs KV Sharma 17 of 7 balls and DJG Sammy 23 of 15 bals played fast innings and put respsctable totals of 145 runs at the end of 20 overs.
Following target of 146 runs, Chennai started inning with DR Smith and BB McCullum very aggrassively. Both played good cricket and kept wickets in hand till 10 overs. BB McCullum made 40 runs and DR Smith contributed very well 66 runs before lost the wicket. Rest was done by middle order batsmen and Chennai won the match by 5 wicket margins. DR Smith of Chennai declared man of the match for his 66 runs.
Thus, Chennai earn 2 important points and Sunrisers 0 pionts.
